December 9, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5554 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3314 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2871 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund (NYSE:EWZ), iShares iBoxx $ InvesTop Investment Grade Corporate Bond Fund (NYSE:LQD), Tetra Technologies Inc. (NYSE:TTI), Vale S.A. (NYSE:VALE), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:MPC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EWZ $-0.200 -0.01% 6,018,049 35.66% 4,542,034 26.91% 1,476,015 Abnormal
  LQD $-0.450 -0.00% 4,875,759 42.23% 1,919,297 16.62% 2,956,462 Abnormal
  TTI $-0.460 -0.09% 7,208,330 43.16% 5,381,218 32.22% 1,827,112 Abnormal
  VALE $-0.160 -0.02% 11,137,401 42.89% 9,026,884 34.76% 2,110,517 Abnormal
  GDX $-0.790 -0.04% 35,506,063 31.13% 30,219,510 26.50% 5,286,553 Abnormal
  MPC $-0.620 -0.01% 3,451,213 55.20% 1,073,690 17.17% 2,377,523 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EWZ with 1,476,015 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.20000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
