December 5, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5515 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4235 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2102 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLE), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Xilinx Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLE $0.680 0.01% 4,674,864 20.81% 11,881,181 52.88% -7,206,317 Abnormal
  BAC $0.610 0.03% 41,329,313 31.76% 55,918,486 42.98% -14,589,173 Abnormal
  T $0.090 0.00% 5,837,069 28.10% 9,503,385 45.75% -3,666,316 Abnormal
  XLNX $0.150 0.00% 806,455 12.49% 4,650,475 72.02% -3,844,020 Abnormal
  F $0.200 0.02% 12,162,801 33.64% 15,420,372 42.65% -3,257,571 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.130 0.00% 3,837,129 24.88% 7,090,570 45.97% -3,253,441 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLE with 7,206,317 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.68000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
