October 11, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5194 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1286 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5096 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), Nike Inc. (NYSE:NKE), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Cousins Properties Inc. (NYSE:CUZ), Barclays Bank iPath Exch Traded Nts 2009-30.1.19 iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Futures Ser A (NYSE:VXX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GE $0.080 0.00% 7,811,822 26.13% 10,963,918 36.68% -3,152,096 Abnormal
  NKE $0.060 0.00% 2,101,175 23.43% 3,442,407 38.39% -1,341,232 Abnormal
  T $0.140 0.00% 5,813,836 26.95% 8,678,715 40.23% -2,864,879 Abnormal
  AAPL $0.370 0.00% 17,141,170 27.09% 24,177,184 38.22% -7,036,014 Abnormal
  CUZ $0.120 0.02% 2,660,592 29.52% 3,684,944 40.88% -1,024,352 Abnormal
  VXX $1.490 0.05% 15,223,427 29.64% 16,572,584 32.26% -1,349,157 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE with 3,152,096 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.08000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
