February 12, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3957 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3100 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2248 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. NEWCASTLE INVESTMENT CORP. (NYSE:NCT), Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc (NYSE:MMC), SPECTRA ENERGY CORP (NYSE:SE), PPG Industries Inc (NYSE:PPG), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), SANDRIDGE ENERGY, INC. (NYSE:SD). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NCT $-0.020 -0.18% 9,515,437 47.03% 5,801,310 28.67% 3,714,127 Abnormal
  MMC $-0.330 -0.90% 4,133,184 40.86% 2,151,098 21.27% 1,982,086 Abnormal
  SE $-0.040 -0.13% 10,642,560 71.62% 2,231,532 15.02% 8,411,028 Abnormal
  PPG $-3.040 -2.18% 2,439,205 54.62% 822,720 18.42% 1,616,485 Abnormal
  CLWR $-0.010 -0.31% 4,784,210 63.91% 2,701,138 36.09% 2,083,072 Abnormal
  SD $-0.090 -1.57% 6,058,815 43.79% 4,777,464 34.53% 1,281,351 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NCT with 3,714,127 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
