Market Maker Surveillance Report. ENMD, RIMM, SMT, SGOC, SPMD, DQ, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday, De
December 26, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3834 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1835 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3455 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Entremed Inc (NASDAQ:ENMD), RESEARCH IN MOTION (NASDAQ:RIMM), SMART TECHNOLOGIES INC - A (NASDAQ:SMT), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), SuperMedia Inc (NASDAQ:SPMD), Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE:DQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ENMD $0.220 16.86% 43,160 51.59% 40,507 48.41% 2,653 121 RIMM $1.230 11.59% 36,468,767 51.68% 33,963,420 48.13% 2,505,347 20,369 SMT $0.150 10.87% 121,001 52.74% 108,432 47.26% 12,569 838 SGOC $0.670 65.93% 512,330 52.50% 463,514 47.50% 48,816 729 SPMD $0.430 13.27% 58,301 61.19% 36,020 37.81% 22,281 518 DQ $1.250 18.12% 97,421 39.67% 76,093 30.98% 21,328 171Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ENMD with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.22000 and a Friction Factor of 121 shares. That means that it only took 121 more shares of buying than selling to move ENMD higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
