September 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4088 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2171 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3322 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. LML Payment Systems Inc (NASDAQ:LMLP), Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Warner Chilcott PLC (NASDAQ:WCRX), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Huntington Bancshares Inc (NASDAQ:HBAN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  LMLP $1.530 81.82% 2,279,668 23.88% 7,267,489 76.12% -4,987,821 Abnormal
  PFE $0.230 0.92% 6,147,522 23.29% 9,237,677 35.00% -3,090,155 Abnormal
  BAC $0.020 0.22% 37,267,078 33.11% 45,561,075 40.48% -8,293,997 Abnormal
  WCRX $0.270 2.07% 2,554,716 35.98% 4,462,949 62.86% -1,908,233 Abnormal
  T $0.170 0.46% 5,605,881 27.98% 6,994,313 34.91% -1,388,432 Abnormal
  HBAN $0.030 0.42% 3,355,284 40.30% 4,815,680 57.84% -1,460,396 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LMLP with 4,987,821 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.53000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
