On Tuesday there were 4094 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3310 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2173 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction KO $0.050 0.13% 4,226,616 26.28% 6,277,403 39.04% -2,050,787 Abnormal NOK $0.160 6.08% 14,871,109 33.50% 18,344,852 41.33% -3,473,743 Abnormal GE $0.110 0.51% 9,471,672 28.64% 13,298,575 40.21% -3,826,903 Abnormal INTC $0.070 0.30% 25,289,339 47.01% 27,593,102 51.29% -2,303,763 Abnormal NWSA $0.190 0.81% 6,045,185 43.23% 7,924,713 56.67% -1,879,528 Abnormal VALE $0.410 2.32% 8,487,943 29.01% 10,010,466 34.21% -1,522,523 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows KO with 2,050,787 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
