July 23, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3873 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1314 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4218 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. StemCells Inc (NASDAQ:STEM), Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Western Union Co (NYSE:WU), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  STEM $0.280 18.06% 6,516,978 54.80% 5,346,223 44.96% 1,170,755 41,813
  NOK $0.120 7.02% 19,451,115 57.58% 7,167,141 21.22% 12,283,974 1,023,665
  BAC $0.020 0.28% 53,969,162 32.29% 49,563,122 29.65% 4,406,040 2,203,020
  GE $0.220 1.11% 20,495,241 33.70% 15,322,744 25.19% 5,172,497 235,114
  WU $0.190 1.13% 3,870,955 38.33% 2,317,758 22.95% 1,553,197 81,747
  ZNGA $0.280 5.83% 15,466,237 53.87% 13,240,821 46.12% 2,225,416 79,479
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows STEM with a Net Buy Volume of 1,170,755 shares and a Friction Factor of 41,813 shares. That means that it takes 41,813 more shares of buying than selling to move STEM higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
