Market Maker Surveillance Report. FCEL, TPX, EDS, MW, DOMK, GWBU, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday, June
June 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3310 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4738 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1496 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. FUELCELL ENERGY INC (NASDAQ:FCEL), Tempur Pedic International Inc (NYSE:TPX), EXCEED CO LTD (NASDAQ:EDS), Men's Wearhouse Inc (NYSE:MW), DOMARK INTERNATIONAL INC (OTCBB:DOMK), GREAT WALL BUILDERS LTD (OTCBB:GWBU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction FCEL $-0.180 -14.52% 2,454,634 48.74% 2,581,426 51.26% -126,792 -7,044 TPX $-21.320 -48.82% 13,381,523 32.05% 13,770,435 32.99% -388,912 -182 EDS $-0.290 -12.95% 104,782 45.16% 127,221 54.84% -22,439 -774 MW $-5.240 -15.01% 630,220 34.84% 647,451 35.79% -17,231 -33 DOMK $-0.470 -22.71% 248,435 22.82% 473,080 43.45% -224,645 -4,780 GWBU $-0.170 -9.94% 3,201,083 35.78% 5,357,268 59.87% -2,156,185 -126,834Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows FCEL with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.18000 and a Friction Factor of -7,044 shares. That means that it only took 7,044 more shares of selling than buying to move FCEL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
