May 16, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3836 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1806 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4019 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. NORTHEAST BANCORP (NASDAQ:NBN), AMBOW EDUCATION HOLDING-ADR (NYSE:AMBO), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), VELTI PLC (NASDAQ:VELT), ZENN MOTOR CO INC (OTC:ZNNMF), TRUNKBOW INTERNATIONAL HOLDI (NASDAQ:TBOW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NBN $-2.060 -20.48% 89,522 19.22% 376,194 80.78% -286,672 -1,392
  AMBO $-0.990 -17.55% 165,825 34.11% 177,744 36.57% -11,919 -120
  SGOC $-0.350 -18.67% 54,773 48.75% 57,190 50.90% -2,417 -69
  VELT $-2.600 -30.23% 5,160,001 45.19% 6,012,277 52.66% -852,276 -3,278
  ZNNMF $-0.460 -26.90% 63,000 19.30% 132,088 40.47% -69,088 -1,502
  TBOW $-0.420 -23.73% 61,154 36.32% 104,124 61.84% -42,970 -1,023
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NBN with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-2.06000 and a Friction Factor of -1,392 shares. That means that it only took 1,392 more shares of selling than buying to move NBN lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
