May 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3622 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1862 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4081 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO (NYSE:CL), HUNTINGTON BANCSHARES INC (NASDAQ:HBAN), VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS INC (NYSE:VZ), Oracle Corp (NASDAQ:ORCL), GREATER PA CORP (NASDAQ:GRPN), GREAT WALL BUILDERS LTD (OTCBB:GWBU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CL $2.210 2.23% 1,275,032 21.96% 2,211,199 38.08% -936,167 Abnormal
  HBAN $0.020 0.31% 6,054,614 42.61% 8,154,707 57.39% -2,100,093 Abnormal
  VZ $0.160 0.39% 2,816,024 24.88% 3,564,074 31.48% -748,050 Abnormal
  ORCL $0.100 0.37% 12,249,866 46.57% 13,889,576 52.80% -1,639,710 Abnormal
  GRPN $0.410 3.45% 11,304,742 45.93% 12,851,964 52.22% -1,547,222 Abnormal
  GWBU $0.450 41.28% 15,081,982 42.03% 19,467,205 54.25% -4,385,223 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CL with 936,167 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $2.21000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
