December 5, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4007 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3776 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2257 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (NYSE:BSX), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT DEVEL (NASDAQ:PPDI), STANDARD PACIFIC CORP (NYSE:SPF), FORD MOTOR COMPANY (NYSE:F), HUMAN GENOME SCIENCES INC (NASDAQ:HGSI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BSX $0.120 2.18% 7,217,986 28.39% 10,128,414 39.84% -2,910,428 Abnormal
     CSCO $0.270 1.46% 18,519,580 41.89% 25,222,871 57.05% -6,703,291 Abnormal
     PPDI $0.050 0.15% 540,854 15.93% 2,853,715 84.07% -2,312,861 Abnormal
     SPF $0.170 5.38% 1,288,330 23.48% 3,292,708 60.00% -2,004,378 Abnormal
     F $0.240 2.20% 22,035,690 33.60% 24,240,450 36.96% -2,204,760 Abnormal
     HGSI $0.100 1.32% 2,111,797 29.89% 4,896,989 69.31% -2,785,192 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BSX with 2,910,428 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.12000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
