September 2, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3925 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1646 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5003 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHINANET ONLINE HOLDINGS INC (AMEX:CNET), CHINA INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTM (NASDAQ:CIIC), DEX ONE CORP (NYSE:DEXO), GOLDEN QUEEN MINING CO LTD (OTC:GQMNF), SUTOR TECHNOLOGY GROUP LTD (NASDAQ:SUTR), GRAMERCY CAPITAL CORP (NYSE:GKK). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CNET $0.350 28.38% 64,948 50.50% 58,320 45.35% 6,628 189 CIIC $0.180 20.69% 595,444 62.21% 361,642 37.79% 233,802 12,989 DEXO $0.130 9.77% 84,633 32.25% 70,116 26.72% 14,517 1,117 GQMNF $0.257 9.34% 63,720 48.23% 39,000 29.52% 24,720 962 SUTR $0.160 12.12% 183,785 56.56% 139,903 43.06% 43,882 2,743 GKK $0.360 12.81% 658,937 40.62% 504,446 31.10% 154,491 4,291Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CNET with a dollar gain Friday of $0.35000 and a Friction Factor of 189 shares. That means that it only took 189 more shares of buying than selling to move CNET higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
