September 1, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4184 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2211 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4002 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. MACY'S INC (NYSE:M), ITAU UNIBANCO HLDNG-PREF ADR (NYSE:ITUB), COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA), NOKIA CORP-SPON ADR (NYSE:NOK), QUALCOMM INC (NASDAQ:QCOM), UNILEVER N V -NY SHARES (NYSE:UN). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     M $0.540 2.08% 3,509,064 27.64% 4,236,254 33.37% -727,190 Abnormal
     ITUB $1.150 6.31% 12,817,642 27.96% 15,591,552 34.01% -2,773,910 Abnormal
     CMCSA $0.130 0.60% 9,976,746 48.20% 10,704,213 51.72% -727,467 Abnormal
     NOK $0.200 3.11% 11,858,114 30.18% 13,573,553 34.54% -1,715,439 Abnormal
     QCOM $0.230 0.45% 6,093,792 45.19% 7,287,865 54.05% -1,194,073 Abnormal
     UN $0.040 0.12% 1,176,935 26.19% 1,746,986 38.88% -570,051 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows M with 727,190 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.54000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
