August 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4386 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4808 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2250 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FORWARD INDUSTRIES INC (NASDAQ:FORD), FAIRPOINT COMMUNICATIONS INC (NYSE:FRP), NEOPROBE CORP (AMEX:NEOP), PHOENIX COMPANIES INC (NYSE:PNX), OXIGENE INC (NASDAQ:OXGN), Wowjoint Holdings Limited - Common Shares (NASDAQ:BWOW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FORD $0.950 47.26% 64,798 53.50% 55,821 46.09% 8,977 94
     FRP $2.030 44.32% 273,379 49.65% 266,985 48.49% 6,394 31
     NEOP $0.600 30.77% 408,684 31.08% 310,487 23.61% 98,197 1,637
     PNX $0.800 51.95% 258,975 33.66% 185,598 24.12% 73,377 917
     OXGN $0.480 43.24% 1,008,333 54.16% 850,388 45.68% 157,945 3,291
     BWOW $1.000 86.96% 303,808 56.63% 211,500 39.42% 92,308 923
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FORD with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.95000 and a Friction Factor of 94 shares. That means that it only took 94 more shares of buying than selling to move FORD higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
