August 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4386 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4808 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2250 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. D.MEDICAL INDUSTRIES LTD (NASDAQ:DMED), TIM PARTICIPACOES SA-ADR (NYSE:TSU), LIMELIGHT NETWORKS INC (NASDAQ:LLNW), SAGENT TECH INC (NASDAQ:SGNT), SMARTHEAT INC (NASDAQ:HEAT), TRANSATLANTIC PETROLEUM LTD (AMEX:TAT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DMED $-0.630 -22.26% 52,439 33.95% 100,751 65.24% -48,312 -767
     TSU $-14.600 -35.48% 506,231 21.78% 508,090 21.86% -1,859 -1
     LLNW $-1.100 -33.33% 5,666,691 48.40% 6,008,259 51.31% -341,568 -3,105
     SGNT $-6.300 -26.93% 257,352 35.45% 453,592 62.48% -196,240 -311
     HEAT $-0.320 -25.00% 1,096,585 45.57% 1,309,845 54.43% -213,260 -6,664
     TAT $-0.290 -26.36% 1,594,711 26.33% 1,637,637 27.04% -42,926 -1,480
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DMED with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.63000 and a Friction Factor of -767 shares. That means that it only took 767 more shares of selling than buying to move DMED lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
