Noveko Wins a First Contract for its Noveko IDP(TM) Filters with Air Transat
MONTREAL, June 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Noveko International Inc. (TSX: EKO) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Noveko Inc. ("Noveko") has been awarded a firm order by Air Transat, Canada's leading holiday travel airline, to equip Air Transat's entire fleet of Airbus A330 with its Noveko IDP(TM) filters.
Air Transat's fleet comprises 21 aircraft, including ten Airbus A330s currently in operation. Two more A330s will be added to its fleet by the beginning of 2012. Each aircraft of this series generally requires eight air filters.
"We are very pleased that Air Transat is our first client and officially marks our breakthrough in the aeronautics market. This order is a true recognition of the value of our patented air filtration technologies, as Air Transat supported us in the process of obtaining the certification required to install our filters in their A330 long-haul aircraft. We are delighted to keep up this momentum and to further intensify our partnership," indicated Mr. Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
"To remain the leader in our category, we always make sure we carefully select each of our suppliers. We were impressed with the performance of the filters, as they attain exceptional ULPA (Ultra-Low Particulate Air) filtration levels, and their useful life is almost twice as long as traditional filters. We therefore selected Noveko IDP(TM) filters for their high value-added features, including their antimicrobial technologies, which protect the filters against the deterioration caused by microorganisms, and their anti-odour technologies, thereby enabling us to provide our passengers and employees with better air quality," added Mr. Allen B. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Transat.
This breakthrough by Noveko in the aeronautics market follows Transport Canada's grant earlier this month of a Supplemental Type Certificate (or "STC") for Noveko IDP(TM) filters, paving the way for their commercialization throughout the Airbus 330 fleet worldwide. Exhibited for the first time at last week's International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, these filters are attracting growing interest in the industry.
