March 18, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2575 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3324 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1838 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FINANCIAL SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLF), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), LOWE'S COS INC (NYSE:LOW), ISHARES MSCI JAPAN INDEX FD (NYSE:EWJ), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     XLF $0.140 0.87% 94,343,940 57.20% 72,984,427 44.25% 21,359,513 1,525,680
     PFE $0.300 1.50% 38,767,893 48.84% 32,993,360 41.57% 5,774,533 192,484
     BAC $0.050 0.36% 94,299,140 47.58% 76,209,198 38.45% 18,089,942 3,617,988
     LOW $0.120 0.46% 11,720,093 59.36% 6,175,745 31.28% 5,544,348 462,029
     EWJ $0.260 2.57% 77,803,709 55.11% 65,289,731 46.24% 12,513,978 481,307
     INTC $0.030 0.16% 62,816,239 85.23% 26,273,914 35.65% 36,542,325 12,180,775
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with a Net Buy Volume of 21,359,513 shares and a Friction Factor of 1,525,680 shares. That means that it takes 1,525,680 more shares of buying than selling to move XLF higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
