Empathy, a startup focused on easing the logistical burdens associated with death, has raised $72 million in a Series C funding round led by Index Ventures, with participation from existing investors such as General Catalyst and Entrée Capital. The company, founded in 2020 by Ron Gura and Yonatan Bergman, aims to support families through the complex processes following the loss of a loved one, including managing paperwork, financial settlements, and providing emotional support.
