Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. has announced a significant investment of Rs 250 crore to establish India's first Proteus®ONE Proton Therapy System at its cancer treatment facility in Hyderabad. This advanced technology, developed by IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.), will enhance the precision of cancer treatment by targeting tumors with high-energy protons, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. The system is expected to be operational by the end of 2024, offering a new hope for cancer patients with its ability to treat complex and deep-seated tumors more effectively than traditional radiation methods. This initiative not only marks a technological advancement in cancer care in India but also aims to make proton therapy more accessible and affordable.
