May 23, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5452 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2951 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2995 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Applied DNA Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ:APDN), AutoZone Inc. (NYSE:AZO), Ecoark Holdings Inc. (OTC:EARK), AirMedia Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AMCN), Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited (NYSE:CCM), PDI Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  APDN $-0.170 -0.12% 59,935 32.95% 74,279 40.83% -14,344 -844
  AZO $-78.490 -0.12% 876,614 29.53% 890,974 30.01% -14,360 -2
  EARK $-0.900 -0.16% 30,072 33.02% 60,237 66.15% -30,165 -335
  AMCN $-0.220 -0.11% 163,483 18.25% 353,456 39.46% -189,973 -8,635
  CCM $-0.580 -0.14% 34,661 22.26% 78,204 50.22% -43,543 -751
  IDXG $-0.370 -0.17% 832,240 37.67% 983,844 44.54% -151,604 -4,097
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows APDN with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.17000 and a Friction Factor of -844 shares. That means that it only took 844 more shares of selling than buying to move APDN lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
