May 19, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5322 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4215 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1808 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE:GG), Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE:LNT), Tidewater Inc. (NYSE:TDW), Asanko Gold In (NYSE:AKG), Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE:HPE), Valvoline Inc. (NYSE:VVV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GG $-0.040 -0.00% 2,354,008 19.70% 5,958,421 49.85% -3,604,413 -901,103
  LNT $-0.040 -0.00% 731,170 8.51% 4,705,258 54.78% -3,974,088 -993,522
  TDW $-0.050 -0.06% 599,301 10.60% 2,217,669 39.24% -1,618,368 -323,674
  AKG $-0.080 -0.04% 1,084,290 14.06% 4,263,326 55.28% -3,179,036 -397,380
  HPE $-0.240 -0.01% 4,106,643 21.86% 7,365,976 39.20% -3,259,333 -135,806
  VVV $-0.260 -0.01% 1,671,670 16.59% 3,388,925 33.64% -1,717,255 -66,048
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GG down $-0.04000 with a Friction Factor of -901,103 and a Net Volume of -3,604,413. That means that it takes 901,103 more shares of selling than buying to drop GG by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
