May 18, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5376 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2931 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2866 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Endologix Inc. (NASDAQ:ELGX), Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras S.A. - Eletrobras (NYSE:EBR), Direxion Daily Latin America Bull (NYSE:LBJ), BANCO DO BRASIL SA (OTC:BDORY), Direxion Daily Brazil Bull 3X Shares (NYSE:BRZU), BB Seguridade Shs Sponsored American Deposit Receipt Level I Repr 1 Sh (PINK:BBSEY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ELGX $-2.480 -0.37% 4,692,982 33.85% 5,380,508 38.81% -687,526 -2,772
  EBR $-1.270 -0.25% 301,826 18.56% 599,651 36.88% -297,825 -2,345
  LBJ $-9.010 -0.30% 59,793 36.43% 83,791 51.05% -23,998 -27
  BDORY $-2.890 -0.27% 839,622 44.98% 897,765 48.09% -58,143 -201
  BRZU $-21.900 -0.48% 4,905,642 33.43% 5,179,278 35.29% -273,636 -125
  BBSEY $-1.860 -0.19% 124,010 38.17% 187,028 57.56% -63,018 -339
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ELGX with a dollar loss Thursday of $-2.48000 and a Friction Factor of -2,772 shares. That means that it only took 2,772 more shares of selling than buying to move ELGX lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
