May 12, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5421 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2723 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3173 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Syneron Medical Ltd. (NASDAQ:ELOS), iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund (NYSE:EWZ), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ELOS $0.050 0.01% 339,332 12.25% 1,892,277 68.31% -1,552,945 Abnormal
  EWZ $0.750 0.02% 5,666,647 25.23% 7,598,003 33.83% -1,931,356 Abnormal
  EEM $0.170 0.00% 16,661,079 25.59% 21,071,978 32.36% -4,410,899 Abnormal
  JNPR $0.030 0.00% 1,817,059 22.83% 3,972,678 49.91% -2,155,619 Abnormal
  GDX $0.390 0.02% 14,836,364 30.55% 18,593,361 38.28% -3,756,997 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.490 0.02% 3,017,709 19.13% 5,159,877 32.71% -2,142,168 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ELOS with 1,552,945 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
