May 10, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5402 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3377 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2496 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Sangamo BioSciences Inc. (NASDAQ:SGMO), MannKind Corp (NASDAQ:MNKD), Petro River Oil Corp (OTC:PTRC), Walter Investment Management Corp (NYSE:WAC), TearLab Corporation (NASDAQ:TEAR), Verastem Inc. (NASDAQ:VSTM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SGMO $1.400 0.32% 183,503 38.07% 120,408 24.98% 63,095 451
  MNKD $0.380 0.34% 13,312,609 41.85% 11,754,382 36.95% 1,558,227 41,006
  PTRC $0.440 0.37% 271,370 63.96% 143,337 33.78% 128,033 2,910
  WAC $0.320 0.28% 1,034,861 43.18% 926,053 38.64% 108,808 3,400
  TEAR $0.490 0.24% 249,717 34.69% 242,682 33.72% 7,035 144
  VSTM $0.440 0.21% 647,671 37.35% 638,620 36.83% 9,051 206
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SGMO with a dollar gain Wednesday of $1.40000 and a Friction Factor of 451 shares. That means that it only took 451 more shares of buying than selling to move SGMO higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
