May 9, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5423 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2706 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3164 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Spirit Realty Capital Inc. (NYSE:SRC), Ramco Gershenson Properties Trust (NYSE:RPT), Energy Transfer Equity L.P. (NYSE:ETE), SPDR S&P OILGAS EPL ETF (NYSE:XOP), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $-0.130 -0.01% 17,010,316 25.94% 24,295,890 37.05% -7,285,574 -560,429
  SRC $-0.190 -0.03% 10,532,687 26.89% 13,583,947 34.68% -3,051,260 -160,593
  RPT $-0.160 -0.01% 2,231,518 12.39% 8,925,064 49.57% -6,693,546 -418,347
  ETE $-0.220 -0.01% 721,949 8.68% 4,200,027 50.47% -3,478,078 -158,094
  XOP $-0.410 -0.01% 3,826,059 22.46% 7,116,849 41.78% -3,290,790 -80,263
  FTR $-0.110 -0.07% 18,713,366 36.47% 22,913,895 44.66% -4,200,529 -381,866
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF down $-0.13000 with a Friction Factor of -560,429 and a Net Volume of -7,285,574. That means that it takes 560,429 more shares of selling than buying to drop XLF by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
