May 8, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5615 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2457 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3256 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), First Data Corp (NYSE:FDC), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), iShares MSCI Japan Index Fund (NYSE:EWJ), Manulife Financial Corporation (NYSE:MFC), Kate Spade & Company (NYSE:KATE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KO $0.200 0.01% 3,573,877 23.65% 5,706,601 37.76% -2,132,724 Abnormal
  FDC $0.610 0.04% 2,749,485 20.80% 5,221,542 39.49% -2,472,057 Abnormal
  AAPL $3.950 0.03% 15,271,008 31.58% 17,440,537 36.06% -2,169,529 Abnormal
  EWJ $0.090 0.00% 2,873,858 24.07% 5,740,692 48.07% -2,866,834 Abnormal
  MFC $0.030 0.00% 609,235 7.97% 4,217,618 55.17% -3,608,383 Abnormal
  KATE $1.430 0.08% 45,701,997 36.42% 52,407,757 41.76% -6,705,760 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KO with 2,132,724 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.20000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
