May 8, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5615 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2457 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3256 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Innodata Inc. (NASDAQ:INOD), Americann Inc. (OTC:ACAN), Mirati Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:MRTX), Acceleron Pharma (NASDAQ:XLRN), Kite Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:KITE), Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ:WKHS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  INOD $-0.250 -0.13% 59,592 28.87% 92,934 45.03% -33,342 -1,334
  ACAN $-0.490 -0.11% 35,373 25.87% 99,222 72.57% -63,849 -1,303
  MRTX $-0.450 -0.11% 40,850 26.34% 77,776 50.15% -36,926 -821
  XLRN $-4.050 -0.13% 290,804 31.81% 291,579 31.89% -775 -2
  KITE $-10.790 -0.13% 2,567,153 31.93% 2,784,851 34.64% -217,698 -202
  WKHS $-0.460 -0.13% 860,560 35.32% 923,813 37.92% -63,253 -1,375
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows INOD with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.25000 and a Friction Factor of -1,334 shares. That means that it only took 1,334 more shares of selling than buying to move INOD lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
