May 2, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5479 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2998 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2911 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS), Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (NASDAQ:NYMX), Twilio Inc. (NYSE:TWLO), Inphi Corporation (NYSE:IPHI), Ampliphi Biosciences Corp (NYSE:APHB), Medpace Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:MEDP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DRYS $-0.250 -0.24% 3,059,554 41.16% 3,268,984 43.98% -209,430 -8,377
  NYMX $-1.010 -0.22% 325,637 30.72% 453,403 42.78% -127,766 -1,265
  TWLO $-10.470 -0.30% 3,628,525 39.09% 3,925,851 42.29% -297,326 -284
  IPHI $-8.340 -0.20% 1,006,703 31.84% 1,177,099 37.22% -170,396 -204
  APHB $-0.530 -0.22% 177,815 30.23% 222,866 37.89% -45,051 -850
  MEDP $-9.620 -0.30% 826,721 32.87% 990,772 39.39% -164,051 -171
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DRYS with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.25000 and a Friction Factor of -8,377 shares. That means that it only took 8,377 more shares of selling than buying to move DRYS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
