April 19, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5446 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2595 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3241 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index Fund (NYSE:FXI), Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (NASDAQ:HBAN), New Gold Inc. (NYSE:NGD), B2Gold Corp (NYSE:BTG), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ), Gigamon Inc. (NYSE:GIMO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FXI $-0.140 -0.00% 6,112,772 36.46% 3,907,526 23.31% 2,205,246 Abnormal
  HBAN $-0.140 -0.01% 8,685,335 39.57% 6,384,883 29.09% 2,300,452 Abnormal
  NGD $-0.080 -0.03% 3,783,353 41.60% 2,114,948 23.25% 1,668,405 Abnormal
  BTG $-0.030 -0.01% 4,960,473 43.37% 2,970,128 25.97% 1,990,345 Abnormal
  GDXJ $-1.230 -0.03% 15,500,061 36.62% 9,071,752 21.43% 6,428,309 Abnormal
  GIMO $-0.250 -0.01% 3,704,112 40.38% 1,707,427 18.61% 1,996,685 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FXI with 2,205,246 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.14000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
