April 18, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5513 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2442 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3371 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS), Titan International Inc. (NYSE:TWI), Netlist Inc. (NASDAQ:NLST), GNC Holdings Inc. (NYSE:GNC), Lilis Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:LLEX), Akari Therap Shs Sponsored American Deposit Receipt Repr 100 Shs (NASDAQ:AKTX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction MVIS $0.290 0.14% 1,062,952 39.85% 1,014,085 38.02% 48,867 1,685 TWI $1.240 0.14% 491,817 33.34% 392,731 26.62% 99,086 799 NLST $0.160 0.15% 466,566 43.22% 356,550 33.03% 110,016 6,876 GNC $1.770 0.25% 10,112,229 37.61% 9,767,247 36.33% 344,982 1,949 LLEX $0.470 0.13% 100,456 42.51% 89,826 38.01% 10,630 226 AKTX $1.670 0.13% 257,062 35.97% 243,854 34.13% 13,208 79Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.29000 and a Friction Factor of 1,685 shares. That means that it only took 1,685 more shares of buying than selling to move MVIS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
