March 30, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5476 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3369 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2698 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), ConocoPhillips Co (NYSE:COP), Industrials Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLI), Activision Blizzard Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI), SPDR Barclays Capital High Yield Bond ETF (NYSE:JNK), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction SPY $0.690 0.00% 13,833,743 27.88% 11,450,828 23.08% 2,382,915 34,535 COP $3.880 0.08% 15,175,487 37.39% 10,545,747 25.98% 4,629,740 11,932 XLI $0.300 0.01% 5,354,480 37.92% 2,263,578 16.03% 3,090,902 103,030 ATVI $0.050 0.00% 4,442,527 65.56% 1,232,954 18.20% 3,209,573 641,915 JNK $0.140 0.00% 8,419,022 35.75% 6,093,302 25.87% 2,325,720 166,123 FTR $0.130 0.06% 22,347,570 34.33% 19,404,087 29.81% 2,943,483 226,422Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows SPY with a Net Buy Volume of 2,382,915 shares and a Friction Factor of 34,535 shares. That means that it takes 34,535 more shares of buying than selling to move SPY higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
