March 30, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5476 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3369 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2698 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Catalyst Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:CBIO), Hill International Inc. (NYSE:HIL), Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp (NASDAQ:TNXP), Ritter Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:RTTR), Peabody Energy Corp (PINK:BTUUQ), Pulse Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:PLSE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CBIO $-1.220 -0.12% 685,001 34.83% 748,075 38.04% -63,074 -517
  HIL $-0.650 -0.14% 160,958 26.55% 238,132 39.28% -77,174 -1,187
  TNXP $-0.930 -0.17% 1,412,082 37.31% 1,416,123 37.42% -4,041 -43
  RTTR $-0.200 -0.13% 366,151 35.67% 386,467 37.65% -20,316 -1,016
  BTUUQ $-1.470 -0.47% 3,097,091 42.32% 3,352,891 45.81% -255,800 -1,740
  PLSE $-5.690 -0.17% 217,486 31.64% 259,855 37.80% -42,369 -74
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CBIO with a dollar loss Thursday of $-1.22000 and a Friction Factor of -517 shares. That means that it only took 517 more shares of selling than buying to move CBIO lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
