March 21, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5211 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1602 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4750 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Star Bulk Carriers Corp. (NASDAQ:SBLK), Calithera Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:CALA), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily S&P Biotech Bull 3X Shares (NYSE:LABU), Direxion Trust Shs Daily Regional Banks Bull 3X Shares (NYSE:DPST), Quantenna Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:QTNA), Medgenics Inc. (NASDAQ:GNMX). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SBLK $-1.600 -0.14% 322,854 34.17% 358,530 37.95% -35,676 -223
  CALA $-1.760 -0.14% 719,250 33.45% 795,909 37.01% -76,659 -436
  LABU $-7.470 -0.14% 1,767,974 34.35% 1,891,138 36.74% -123,164 -165
  DPST $-11.020 -0.16% 43,684 31.53% 55,664 40.18% -11,980 -11
  QTNA $-3.210 -0.13% 274,098 33.53% 311,233 38.07% -37,135 -116
  GNMX $-0.430 -0.20% 1,523,095 34.95% 2,068,766 47.47% -545,671 -12,690
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SBLK with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-1.60000 and a Friction Factor of -223 shares. That means that it only took 223 more shares of selling than buying to move SBLK lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
