March 14, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5532 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1862 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3971 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Allied Motion Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:AMOT), Adeptus Health (NYSE:ADPT), Ecoark Holdings Inc. (OTC:EARK), Walter Investment Management Corp (NYSE:WAC), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), Neurotrope Inc. (OTC:NTRP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AMOT $-4.180 -0.18% 53,722 24.22% 73,930 33.33% -20,208 -48
  ADPT $-0.840 -0.36% 1,983,107 35.02% 2,385,907 42.13% -402,800 -4,795
  EARK $-1.970 -0.25% 110,386 39.16% 169,947 60.30% -59,561 -302
  WAC $-1.050 -0.39% 1,211,805 33.52% 1,441,906 39.88% -230,101 -2,191
  JNUG $-1.250 -0.18% 36,655,134 38.91% 41,521,436 44.07% -4,866,302 -38,930
  NTRP $-5.250 -0.18% 31,024 27.90% 67,137 60.37% -36,113 -69
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AMOT with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-4.18000 and a Friction Factor of -48 shares. That means that it only took 48 more shares of selling than buying to move AMOT lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
