March 13, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5523 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3473 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2469 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Tangoe Inc. (NASDAQ:TNGO), ParkerVision, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRKR), Osiris Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIR), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bear 3X ETF (NYSE:JDST), Catabasis Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:CATB), PDI Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXG). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  TNGO $-0.870 -0.15% 605,693 18.25% 1,768,377 53.28% -1,162,684 -13,364
  PRKR $-0.420 -0.16% 371,873 34.39% 449,618 41.58% -77,745 -1,851
  OSIR $-1.360 -0.26% 674,643 23.14% 1,508,905 51.75% -834,262 -6,134
  JDST $-2.500 -0.13% 8,155,535 39.25% 9,057,589 43.60% -902,054 -3,608
  CATB $-0.310 -0.15% 2,321,026 37.58% 2,581,870 41.81% -260,844 -8,414
  IDXG $-0.300 -0.12% 98,177 35.84% 107,762 39.34% -9,585 -320
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TNGO with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.87000 and a Friction Factor of -13,364 shares. That means that it only took 13,364 more shares of selling than buying to move TNGO lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
