March 9, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5480 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2217 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3789 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), Vimpelcom Ltd (NASDAQ:VIP), Baxter International Inc. (NYSE:BAX), DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $0.100 0.00% 22,431,787 36.99% 19,934,008 32.87% 2,497,779 249,778
  SPY $0.520 0.00% 30,505,745 33.91% 22,499,522 25.01% 8,006,223 153,966
  VIP $0.010 0.00% 4,119,622 60.32% 1,611,150 23.59% 2,508,472 2,508,472
  BAX $0.770 0.02% 2,810,058 55.91% 883,187 17.57% 1,926,871 25,024
  DRYS $0.220 0.14% 35,450,655 42.30% 33,681,936 40.19% 1,768,719 80,396
  FTR $0.110 0.04% 23,597,053 36.01% 21,710,181 33.13% 1,886,872 171,534
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with a Net Buy Volume of 2,497,779 shares and a Friction Factor of 249,778 shares. That means that it takes 249,778 more shares of buying than selling to move XLF higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
