Market Maker Surveillance Report. CRIS, CMTL, CUR, OCRX, BUDZ, MXPT, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Thursday, M
March 9, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5480 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2217 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3789 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Curis Inc. (NASDAQ:CRIS), Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL), Neuralstem Inc. (NASDAQ:CUR), Ocera Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:OCRX), WEED Inc. (PINK:BUDZ), MaxPoint Interactive Inc. (NASDAQ:MXPT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CRIS $0.710 0.28% 1,238,258 38.78% 1,087,873 34.07% 150,385 2,118 CMTL $2.650 0.24% 1,191,884 38.24% 1,114,797 35.77% 77,087 291 CUR $0.880 0.20% 271,099 39.10% 249,341 35.96% 21,758 247 OCRX $0.750 0.68% 19,843,956 39.98% 19,226,337 38.74% 617,619 8,235 BUDZ $0.570 0.34% 104,473 61.32% 63,295 37.15% 41,178 722 MXPT $0.920 0.20% 143,849 41.59% 128,121 37.04% 15,728 171Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CRIS with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.71000 and a Friction Factor of 2,118 shares. That means that it only took 2,118 more shares of buying than selling to move CRIS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
