March 8, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5289 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1972 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4240 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE:BMY), NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ:NXPI), Ambev S.A. (NYSE:ABEV), Snap Inc. (NYSE:SNAP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $0.030 0.00% 27,267,496 26.72% 32,141,429 31.49% -4,873,933 Abnormal
  F $0.070 0.01% 8,157,007 28.71% 10,757,261 37.86% -2,600,254 Abnormal
  BMY $0.790 0.01% 2,422,794 14.56% 6,012,838 36.14% -3,590,044 Abnormal
  NXPI $0.100 0.00% 509,385 8.85% 4,573,407 79.44% -4,064,022 Abnormal
  ABEV $0.010 0.00% 8,998,724 32.26% 12,441,176 44.60% -3,442,452 Abnormal
  SNAP $1.210 0.06% 17,145,279 30.98% 21,887,048 39.54% -4,741,769 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 4,873,933 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.03000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
