March 8, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5289 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1972 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4240 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Ensco plc (NYSE:ESV), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Mosaic Company The (NYSE:MOS), Industrials Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLI), MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ESV $-0.380 -0.04% 6,914,562 37.69% 4,268,910 23.27% 2,645,652 Abnormal
  T $-0.110 -0.00% 8,877,106 43.30% 4,947,808 24.14% 3,929,298 Abnormal
  CSCO $-0.160 -0.01% 7,998,796 43.21% 5,549,557 29.98% 2,449,239 Abnormal
  MOS $-0.510 -0.02% 4,567,856 48.99% 1,603,644 17.20% 2,964,212 Abnormal
  XLI $-0.230 -0.00% 4,479,630 36.72% 2,649,808 21.72% 1,829,822 Abnormal
  MGM $-0.060 -0.00% 5,440,238 43.88% 2,611,549 21.06% 2,828,689 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ESV with 2,645,652 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.38000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
