March 7, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5412 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2004 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4076 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), TerraForm Global Inc. (NASDAQ:GLBL), Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), 58.com Inc. (NYSE:WUBA), Nimble Storage Inc. (NYSE:NMBL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EEM $0.050 0.00% 8,917,552 28.32% 9,837,685 31.25% -920,133 Abnormal
  GLBL $0.650 0.15% 6,816,280 39.90% 8,462,794 49.54% -1,646,514 Abnormal
  VIAB $0.310 0.01% 1,256,428 21.15% 2,813,642 47.37% -1,557,214 Abnormal
  JNUG $0.130 0.02% 33,143,711 40.34% 36,109,293 43.95% -2,965,582 Abnormal
  WUBA $0.620 0.02% 513,332 15.36% 1,828,788 54.71% -1,315,456 Abnormal
  NMBL $3.970 0.46% 19,372,820 38.13% 20,620,552 40.59% -1,247,732 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 920,133 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
