March 1, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5201 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4471 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2027 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund (NYSE:IWM), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Denbury Resources Inc. (NYSE:DNR), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  IWM $2.630 0.02% 9,616,702 26.94% 11,605,156 32.51% -1,988,454 Abnormal
  BAC $0.840 0.03% 46,298,485 30.28% 58,874,630 38.51% -12,576,145 Abnormal
  DNR $0.050 0.02% 1,866,846 24.05% 3,605,078 46.45% -1,738,232 Abnormal
  AMD $0.500 0.04% 26,775,635 36.80% 29,558,306 40.63% -2,782,671 Abnormal
  GDX $0.120 0.01% 16,733,891 22.80% 26,541,711 36.16% -9,807,820 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.630 0.02% 5,299,747 17.30% 11,124,892 36.31% -5,825,145 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows IWM with 1,988,454 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $2.63000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
