March 1, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5201 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4471 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2027 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Dynavax Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:DVAX), Stone Energy Corp (NYSE:SGY), Calithera Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:CALA), Weight Watchers International Inc. (NYSE:WTW), Amicus Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:FOLD), Vermillion Inc. (NASDAQ:VRML). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction DVAX $2.350 0.52% 8,061,941 40.07% 7,816,670 38.85% 245,271 1,044 SGY $19.060 2.74% 193,750 24.87% 185,976 23.87% 7,774 4 CALA $2.600 0.29% 1,099,047 37.16% 981,525 33.18% 117,522 452 WTW $3.930 0.27% 7,067,769 37.28% 6,975,720 36.80% 92,049 234 FOLD $1.110 0.17% 4,427,022 36.31% 4,324,494 35.47% 102,528 924 VRML $0.590 0.26% 107,642 42.36% 81,651 32.13% 25,991 441Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows DVAX with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.35000 and a Friction Factor of 1,044 shares. That means that it only took 1,044 more shares of buying than selling to move DVAX higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
