February 27, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5428 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3610 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2562 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Southwestern Energy Co. (NYSE:SWN), Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI), Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX), Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), SPDR S&P RETAIL ETF (NYSE:XRT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SWN $0.270 0.04% 11,558,519 42.20% 8,330,933 30.42% 3,227,586 119,540
  SIRI $0.040 0.01% 11,599,202 47.96% 7,957,873 32.91% 3,641,329 910,332
  FCX $0.020 0.00% 12,153,520 36.08% 9,653,628 28.66% 2,499,892 1,249,946
  XOM $0.460 0.01% 5,474,889 36.84% 2,867,687 19.29% 2,607,202 56,678
  F $0.190 0.02% 15,953,122 35.96% 13,929,321 31.40% 2,023,801 106,516
  XRT $0.270 0.01% 3,868,359 44.74% 1,970,883 22.80% 1,897,476 70,277
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SWN with a Net Buy Volume of 3,227,586 shares and a Friction Factor of 119,540 shares. That means that it takes 119,540 more shares of buying than selling to move SWN higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
