February 21, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5487 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3890 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2467 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA), Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLP), PulteGroup Inc. (NYSE:PHM), Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX), Office Depot Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP), AK Steel Holding Corp (NYSE:AKS). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CMCSA $0.220 0.01% 3,157,622 25.93% 5,002,255 41.07% -1,844,633 Abnormal XLP $0.520 0.01% 3,168,355 16.52% 7,576,522 39.51% -4,408,167 Abnormal PHM $0.040 0.00% 904,248 17.54% 2,358,402 45.74% -1,454,154 Abnormal SBUX $0.180 0.00% 1,974,533 24.97% 3,262,471 41.27% -1,287,938 Abnormal ODP $0.090 0.02% 2,112,319 20.14% 7,419,832 70.75% -5,307,513 Abnormal AKS $0.220 0.03% 6,222,726 24.32% 11,703,460 45.75% -5,480,734 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CMCSA with 1,844,633 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.22000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
