February 15, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5416 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3605 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2518 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR), Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL), Fortress Investment Group LLC (NYSE:FIG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SPY $1.590 0.01% 22,761,590 26.63% 28,346,412 33.16% -5,584,822 Abnormal
  KO $0.020 0.00% 8,404,220 31.61% 10,147,400 38.17% -1,743,180 Abnormal
  TWTR $0.230 0.01% 12,256,658 34.89% 14,733,127 41.94% -2,476,469 Abnormal
  WFC $0.570 0.01% 6,797,814 26.83% 9,402,457 37.11% -2,604,643 Abnormal
  ORCL $0.310 0.01% 2,200,234 23.80% 3,851,135 41.66% -1,650,901 Abnormal
  FIG $1.780 0.29% 64,189,285 42.39% 66,501,362 43.91% -2,312,077 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SPY with 5,584,822 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.59000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
