February 10, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5496 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4186 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1897 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Sierra Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:SWIR), Infinera Corporation (NASDAQ:INFN), Plug Power, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLUG), Quotient Technology Inc. (NYSE:QUOT), MENTOR CAPITAL INC. (OTC:MNTR), KBS Fashion Group Ltd (NASDAQ:KBSF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SWIR $5.700 0.31% 1,298,884 33.52% 1,234,068 31.85% 64,816 114
  INFN $2.560 0.27% 6,254,027 37.61% 6,248,367 37.58% 5,660 22
  PLUG $0.330 0.39% 10,618,102 43.42% 9,144,944 37.40% 1,473,158 44,641
  QUOT $2.300 0.21% 741,320 33.36% 729,106 32.81% 12,214 53
  MNTR $0.430 0.28% 558,933 61.39% 345,135 37.91% 213,798 4,972
  KBSF $7.390 1.94% 1,323,599 32.64% 1,277,555 31.50% 46,044 62
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SWIR with a dollar gain Friday of $5.70000 and a Friction Factor of 114 shares. That means that it only took 114 more shares of buying than selling to move SWIR higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
