February 10, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5496 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4186 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1897 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. First BanCorp (NYSE:FBP), Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. (NYSE:ARE), Globalstar Inc (NYSE:GSAT), OAO GAZPROM ADR (OTC:OGZPY), comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCOR), Coty Inc. (NYSE:COTY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FBP $-0.030 -0.01% 332,321 6.00% 2,573,318 46.48% -2,240,997 -746,999
  ARE $-0.610 -0.01% 195,979 5.50% 1,657,827 46.56% -1,461,848 -23,965
  GSAT $-0.030 -0.02% 2,534,147 28.38% 4,299,121 48.14% -1,764,974 -588,325
  OGZPY $-0.039 -0.01% 221,256 4.57% 2,705,666 55.83% -2,484,410 -637,028
  SCOR $-0.690 -0.03% 2,674,543 35.51% 4,129,022 54.83% -1,454,479 -21,079
  COTY $-0.040 -0.00% 4,369,445 27.27% 7,194,796 44.91% -2,825,351 -706,338
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FBP down $-0.03000 with a Friction Factor of -746,999 and a Net Volume of -2,240,997. That means that it takes 746,999 more shares of selling than buying to drop FBP by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
