January 27, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5624 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2690 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3177 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLP), iShares MSCI EAFE Index (NYSE:EFA), Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (NYSE:POT). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $-0.090 -0.00% 22,917,882 32.05% 9,405,331 13.15% 13,512,551 Abnormal
  SPY $-0.320 -0.00% 17,872,328 31.36% 14,809,261 25.99% 3,063,067 Abnormal
  BAC $-0.080 -0.00% 20,420,243 35.81% 17,868,751 31.33% 2,551,492 Abnormal
  XLP $-0.340 -0.01% 7,355,783 33.74% 4,453,728 20.43% 2,902,055 Abnormal
  EFA $-0.120 -0.00% 5,924,831 35.09% 3,934,997 23.31% 1,989,834 Abnormal
  POT $-0.520 -0.03% 4,082,983 45.16% 2,179,132 24.10% 1,903,851 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 13,512,551 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.09000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
