January 27, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5624 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2690 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3177 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT), SPDR S&P OILGAS EPL ETF (NYSE:XOP), Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA), Mast Therapeutics Inc. (NYSE:MSTX), Telecorp Inc. (OTC:TLNUF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CHK $-0.210 -0.03% 10,268,337 33.12% 12,164,587 39.24% -1,896,250 -90,298
  WFT $-0.090 -0.02% 6,118,498 31.89% 7,808,421 40.70% -1,689,923 -187,769
  XOP $-0.500 -0.01% 2,265,303 21.43% 3,792,606 35.88% -1,527,303 -30,546
  ZNGA $-0.010 -0.00% 2,070,913 21.15% 6,644,614 67.85% -4,573,701 -4,573,701
  MSTX $-0.010 -0.06% 1,572,211 26.04% 3,273,350 54.21% -1,701,139 -1,701,139
  TLNUF $-0.013 -0.37% 9,020,265 40.01% 13,312,655 59.05% -4,292,390 -3,327,434
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CHK down $-0.21000 with a Friction Factor of -90,298 and a Net Volume of -1,896,250. That means that it takes 90,298 more shares of selling than buying to drop CHK by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
